Some updates

We’re late in updating my 5 months old now that I’m nearly 6 months old…so I won’t go backwards (except for the fact that I did get sick shortly after I turned 5 months old as what mummy was predicting earlier – just some coughing and cold).

As of today, I started my very first solids….how was it? I no like it. :D Ok, it was alright at the beginning and then I started spitting them out and then I got cranky and didn’t want it altogether and just want to sleep. Mummy said she will make sure I’m not cranky when she starts again tomorrow.

Interestingly also, my crawling improved today. At least it gets me where I want to go faster than the last few weeks.

I’m still on 100% breast milk (a feat which mummy is trying real hard to maintain). I definitely do not sleep through the night. I can sleep the longest for 4-5 hours maybe from 9 plus pm and then I’m up nearly every hour for feeds. This is a nightmare for mummy and she hopes by starting me on solids, this will improve. As for daytime, I still catnap unfortunately and still mostly stuck to mummy’s nen-nen when I nap over the weekends.

Next weekend, I’ll be going to the docs for my 6th month checkup and also to get my pneumococcal jab. Will update my weight and height then – the last I checked I was 6.5kgs and 62cm in length. Mummy said I’m growing longer (think she meant taller) faster than my sister was growing when she was at my age. Till then, don’t miss me too much! ;)

4 months updates

It seems to be the trend that when I turned older by another month, I’ll fall sick again. Yes, just when I turned 4 months old, I had the flu again with fever too. This time, I went to see Dr. Lee, my sister’s original pediatrician since my fever kept coming back. Because I was coughing badly, it led to me having an ear infection and I had to be on antibiotics for a week. Mummy was told to come back and see him if my fever don’t go away after 3 days. Luckily, it didn’t but I was coughing for 2 weeks or so. I’m alright now and mummy is keeping her fingers crossed that I don’t fall sick again when I turned 5 months old which is a week away.

I started ‘crawling’ flat down on my tummy over 4 months old but of course I can’t go far. With a lot of effort put in, I’d probably moved a few centimeters. Then I became better at it and now (just over 4 and a half months) I can be on my knees, moving back and forth till I fall all flat down. I can also reach for things I wanna get by this but with a lot of effort still.

My grasping is getting better and whatever I can grab hold of, it will end up in my mouth. If I can’t get things, I will put my finger/s or the whole fist in my mouth, is this a sign of a potential thumb sucker like my sister?! Mummy sure hopes not. I drool a whole lot now as well, always wetting the front of my clothes and thus, the bib-wearing has begun. Luckily, I got some cool hand-me-downs bibs from my sister.

I’m growing at such a speedy rate, mummy is thinking of starting me on solids sooner. She will ask Dr. Koe on this when I go in next weekend for my 5th month checkup. Enjoy some pictures of me first. 3 months update & my first CNY

I turned 3 months old just before CNY and the following are some updates on me :-


- I now weigh 6kgs and measure at 60cm in height (mummy says I’m growing at a faster rate compared to my sister, Rye Li)


- I’m still fully breastfed, can drink in between 4-5oz at one go.


- I sleep longer at nights, can go up as over 6 hours in a row. On average, I will wake up twice a night, at times once and at times 3 times.


- I learnt how to turn over when I just turned 3 months and now I can turn over easily


- I love smiling and laughing and mostly, talking too (baby talk of course)!


- I still cry a lot and want to be carried mostly


- I catnap only during daytime which will last half hour or 45 minutes the most unless I’m being carried which can last longer


- I’m a busybody baby, noises catches my attention easily so when it’s feeding time from mummy, I get distracted easily


- I recognize people now and I only want mummy to carry me from 7pm onwards

- My hair doesn't seem to grow, in fact, i'm dropping loads of hair now like mummy

My first CNY became a nightmare for mummy and papa. On CNY eve itself, I was already sick for the first time (fever and running nose) and we were on our way to Pangkor Island. We went there for 3 nights and I mostly stayed in the hotel room with mummy. My nose was stuck most of the times and I also begin to cough which mostly made me very irritated especially at nights. My sister got to enjoy herself mostly but she too became sick on the first day of CNY. We were suppose to go to Camerons to see my Grandpa and Grandma after Pangkor but since we were both sick, we left for home instead. On a brighter note, I’ve recovered and I’ve also received loads of Ang Pows! :D

Mummy’s entry – updates on the daycare

It’s been week 3 at the daycare and how has this girl been coping?! Well, much better although she still doesn’t sleep much there. I’m guessing it has got to do with the noise around her, she is one busybody baby. This works well for me as once she hits home in the car, she sleeps. And also she sleeps longer in the nights, as long as 4-6 hours at times. But still wakes up 3-4 times for milk (I’m still a zombie).

And since she doesn’t have me during the day, once I breastfeed her in the evenings, she totally latches on for a long time. She even sleeps while latching but she’s definitely drinking so I can’t do much but sit down and wait for her to let go! When I got back to work last week, hubby was the one sending and picking the girls from the daycare as he wasn’t travelling. So when Haye Li heard my voice when I got back home from work, she smiled! She’s really happy hearing my voice and when I didn’t go to her, she will cry. This girl wants her milk fresh! LOL.

By the way, this girl has started laughing over the weekend. But I can’t get her to laugh for her papa. Haha, will try and get it recorded.

At the daycare lately, she doesn’t cry as much it seems which I find it hard to believe coz she cries a lot at home when we leave her be in her cot or the rocking chair. Even the maid said she doesn’t cry when she is left at the rocking chair at the daycare. Guess she just know who she can bullies at home.

2 months old

I'm already 2 months. Time really flies eh...I've been getting comments how chubby I've become as my cheeks has grown (among other parts on my body) and my double chin is really obvious. Mummy tells all that the double chin came with papa as I already had it from Day 1.

Merry Christmas everybody!

As you all know, I'm a very smiley baby when you play with me. And below are some pics to show you.

My neck is so strong that I have been doing this a while now. I was doing this in my first month but not as stable as now which is why I get to sleep on my front. And because I move so much (while I struggle and cry to get carried from the cot), I will move all over the cot and at times will knock my head against it too which makes me cry louder!

7 weeks updates and more photos

As of last Thursday, I was 7 weeks old and we went to see the doctor for my vaccination. I was already 4.6kg and 55cm in length (I was 2.75kg and 52cm at birth). Mummy says I'm growing at a faster speed compared to my sister. She's complaining her left arm is aching from all that carrying.

I can lift my head up easily now when I'm put on my front. I was already lifting my head up and turning from left to right in the first month but I'm better at it now so I sleep on my front most of the time since I can sleep longer in that position. But I have frightened Mummy a few times when I could also sleep with my face down, not for long though before I turn sideways to breathe better.

Since Mummy has been saying a lot of stuff about me...I'll let you enjoy some pictures of me instead. :)
