Mummy’s entry – updates on the daycare

It’s been week 3 at the daycare and how has this girl been coping?! Well, much better although she still doesn’t sleep much there. I’m guessing it has got to do with the noise around her, she is one busybody baby. This works well for me as once she hits home in the car, she sleeps. And also she sleeps longer in the nights, as long as 4-6 hours at times. But still wakes up 3-4 times for milk (I’m still a zombie).

And since she doesn’t have me during the day, once I breastfeed her in the evenings, she totally latches on for a long time. She even sleeps while latching but she’s definitely drinking so I can’t do much but sit down and wait for her to let go! When I got back to work last week, hubby was the one sending and picking the girls from the daycare as he wasn’t travelling. So when Haye Li heard my voice when I got back home from work, she smiled! She’s really happy hearing my voice and when I didn’t go to her, she will cry. This girl wants her milk fresh! LOL.

By the way, this girl has started laughing over the weekend. But I can’t get her to laugh for her papa. Haha, will try and get it recorded.

At the daycare lately, she doesn’t cry as much it seems which I find it hard to believe coz she cries a lot at home when we leave her be in her cot or the rocking chair. Even the maid said she doesn’t cry when she is left at the rocking chair at the daycare. Guess she just know who she can bullies at home.

2 months old

I'm already 2 months. Time really flies eh...I've been getting comments how chubby I've become as my cheeks has grown (among other parts on my body) and my double chin is really obvious. Mummy tells all that the double chin came with papa as I already had it from Day 1.
Merry Christmas everybody!

As you all know, I'm a very smiley baby when you play with me. And below are some pics to show you.

My neck is so strong that I have been doing this a while now. I was doing this in my first month but not as stable as now which is why I get to sleep on my front. And because I move so much (while I struggle and cry to get carried from the cot), I will move all over the cot and at times will knock my head against it too which makes me cry louder!

7 weeks updates and more photos

As of last Thursday, I was 7 weeks old and we went to see the doctor for my vaccination. I was already 4.6kg and 55cm in length (I was 2.75kg and 52cm at birth). Mummy says I'm growing at a faster speed compared to my sister. She's complaining her left arm is aching from all that carrying.

I can lift my head up easily now when I'm put on my front. I was already lifting my head up and turning from left to right in the first month but I'm better at it now so I sleep on my front most of the time since I can sleep longer in that position. But I have frightened Mummy a few times when I could also sleep with my face down, not for long though before I turn sideways to breathe better.

Since Mummy has been saying a lot of stuff about me...I'll let you enjoy some pictures of me instead. :)

me sleeping snuggly in the rocking chair, mind you, mummy had to rock me and let me cry for a while before i actually slept on it, but it wasn't for long though. ;)

please carry me!

why am i not being carried?!

Below pictures were from Camerons, my first holiday! I slept better there but will scream like mad when it's time to change diapers or clothes. We didn't go out much but stayed indoors most of the time since it was raining everyday.

slept through for about half an hour when we started the journey to camerons

Below pictures were from our day-trip to Port Dickson for my Uncle Ivan's (mummy's cousin) wedding. You will see how many people carried me. I was highly in demand there. Too bad I didn't get to take a picture with the beautiful bride, she was really beautiful!

didn't sleep for long though before I screamed to be carried

Mummy’s entry – Off to the daycare

It was Haye Li’s first time to the daycare yesterday. She is so different from Rye Li and I guess I knew this from the time she was in my tummy with the way she moves. And the last 7 weeks has proved me right with her feisty character. She is one demanding baby this one.

This girl doesn’t like to sit in her car seat. And the thing is, she has been trained since she was born. Those times during my confinement when I had to take Rye Li to and fro from the daycare, Haye Li was already tagging along. In the first week, she was alright, sleeping most of the time. But after that, she became restless and will be crying (more like screaming) throughout the journey. It is as if she is being tortured sitting down in the car seat. Because of this, when we’re out and if hubby is driving, she gets to sit on me most of the times unless she’s dead asleep in which I would put her back into the car seat. But the most she can sleep for (and this is the same at home) is for half an hour before she wakes up crying, wanting to be carried.

So yesterday morning (and the same for this morning), she was already crying halfway throughout the journey there. The maid was sitting behind with her while I was driving. I would not allow the maid to bring her out but the maid was entertaining her with her toys which at times it worked.

When we reached the daycare, I passed her to one of the caretakers who brought her into the baby’s room. And I was talking to Aunty Ng on how to handle Haye Li’s bottles (since it’s our first time using Dr. Brown’s) and so on when I could hear Haye Li wailing at the background already. I knew that she was already put into the baby cot which she would protest since she wants attention all the time. When I was walking out to my car which was parked outside the gate, I could still hear her cries! I only felt sorry for the other babies. LOL.

Her first day is so different from Rye Li’s. Rye Li slept most of the time in the car seat. We love taking Rye Li out since she was easy to handle and didn’t have to be carried most of the time. She only cries when she’s hungry or during that few months at nights when she was colicky. Rye Li slept throughout the journey to Aunty Ng’s. Only at times in the evenings, on the way back, she would cry. And I remember putting Rye Li in her cot at the daycare and she didn’t cry at all.

And when I dropped off Rye Li for the first time, I was really heartsick and wanted to cry after leaving the daycare. At that time, I didn’t really know Aunty Ng, she was only recommended by a friend. But this time with Haye Li, I didn’t have this feeling since we have known Aunty Ng pretty well now and I was looking forward to my 5 days off before I go back to office. Of course, I do miss her but my short break from being a full time mom outweighs that for sure. LOL. But I was worried whether the caretakers could handle this difficult baby or not.

Hubby and I went to pick the girls up in the evening. I was eager to know how Haye Li was the whole day. Weeks before sending Haye Li in, I already warned Aunty Ng about her but Aunty Ng said that we told her the same for Rye Li but Rye Li was easy to handle. This Aunty Ng is one amazing woman, nothing can be too difficult for her to handle. With nearly 40 kids to manage at the daycare, she even finds the time to cook, bake, read, teach and make her jelly cakes. She also ferries some of the kids to and fro from schools, extra classes and tuitions.

So when we got there and asked how was the baby, she said “Ok, not too bad” and then she said she knows why Haye Li cries a lot. It seems every times Haye Li cries, it’s either she has poo-ed or peed. And that she has some rashes at her bottom. I wasn’t too sure of this but we said that we will see how it goes the next few days. Haye Li didn’t sleep much there and I don’t blame her coz she is also one busybody baby. She wakes up to loud noises (which Rye Li can sleep through) even though we have trained her to sleep to the radio or tv on. Something we did with Rye Li and it proved to us that it worked. But Haye Li is just so curious with her surroundings.

I’m lucky that at nights, she can sleep on her own even with noises around her. She only cries for milk. And because she doesn’t sleep much throughout the day, the first time she sleeps at nights, she can sleep for a longer time, the longest so far, for 4 hours or so. She still wakes up 3-5 times through the nights but after milk, she will go back to sleep so it’s not too bad on me. During the daytime, she will only sleep half an hour the most on her own and more when she is being carried.

I will be posting up some pics of her after this…this girl has been going places at such a young age, earlier than her sister! And I was bold enough to bring her out on my own, something I didn’t dare do with Rye Li till she was much older and easier to handle. I’m so immune to her cries already in the car which is why I dare to bring her out alone. :)

Mummy's entry - Hmmmph!

My girls bully me big time! Sob sob!

In-laws left on Sunday and I wanted to stock up on food for the house so I left the baby at home with hubby while taking Rye Li and the maid to the hypermarket. The thing with Haye Li lately is that she’s really demanding and difficult baby to handle, wanting to be carried most of the times and she cries a lot. Even MIL could not handle her for that 3 hours I was away when I went for my facial last week. She will only sleep like half an hour the most and starts crying when she realized she is in her cot.

Anyway, before we left the house, I made sure she was fed and that she fell asleep in her cot and told hubby what to do if she gets hungry, etc. In that few hours before I left the house, she was already difficult with me.

So imagine this, I really hasten my shopping time because of her and I was thinking of her all that time. We were out for less than 2 hours in total and when we got back, this girl was still sound asleep. And in total, she slept about 3 hours or so!
Hubby bragged that the girl behaves well with him and I gladly replied that he is welcome to look after her anytime!
I wonder what will happen to her when she goes to the daycare in 2 weeks as she won't have the luxury of having someone carrying her there the whole day!
