Camerons - October 2009

On my actual 1st birthday on 23rd October, we went up to Cameron Highlands. *Please excuse the quality of some of the photos....mummy is still learning with her new camera.
I was pretty much well behaved throughout the journey although I demanded to be out of my car seat at times.

We stopped by the hot springs at Kuala Woh, Tapah, which is on the way and chilled there for a bit. I liked the freedom of roaming but wasn't too keen in playing with the water, unlike my sister who was having heaps of fun in it.

We were supposed to stop by at the famous waterfall on the way up to Camerons but it was raining and hence, we headed straight to my grandpa's place.

I was chilling out at the apartment while my papa took my sister to the playground

We celebrated my birthday with the cutest smallest (like me) chocolate cake from Starbucks at the apartment after our early steamboat dinner at Brinchang.
My first time eating chocolate off the cake too and I like it but not too much of it. Even my sister whom the cake is actually for (she loves everything chocolate) didn't want to finish it.

The next morning, I was brought to the playground. My first time there and I love it!

But after a while, I got too tired and we were waiting for my sister to have her fun.

We got back to the apartment to have our bath and papa got his nap. So while he was snoozing away, mummy took some shots of my sister and I.

Mummy had to wake papa up from his slumberland as we were suppose to head to the tea farm and the sky was getting dark. We headed to the Boh farm at Ringlet. I vomitted on the way there, probably from car sick.

These are the few shots that Mummy got of me before it rained and then we were stuck at the cafe for over an hour or so after that.

Pictures taken indoor at the cafe.
After that we pretty much hung out at the apartment till the next day and took our own sweet time to go back to KL.

My first time tasting strawberries and I love it! Not as much as my sister though.

Goofing around

On the way back to KL, as you can see, I didn't really enjoy the car ride.

1 year old update

I went in for my 1 year old jabs yesterday and found out that I was only 8.4kgs (Mummy swears that I should be heavier as her back, arms and neck always ache when she carries me). As for height, we haven’t got any clue as my Doctor didn’t take my measurement again.

I only made a slight whimper when I was jabbed at my butt-butt. Actually, I didn’t even know what hit me as I was having my nen-nen then. This is my Doctor’s trick, making me drink of mummy while she do her thing.

I’m still drinking breast milk 90% of the time. I started formula when I was 10 months old as mummy was ill then and although she had enough stock of her milk in the freezer, she wanted to start me on formula to see if I was alright with it. I love it but I only had it like once a day during weekdays at the daycare. Only recently it was increased to twice a day during the weekdays. I still get direct access to her milk at nights, through the nights when I wake up, mornings and throughout the weekends.

As for solids, I take 2 times porridge at the daycare with snacks (fruits, biscuits or bread) in between while weekends, I’ll have baby cereal for breakfast, porridge for lunch and dinner with snacks in between. I have yet to try meat other than fish meat and I will get chicken in my porridge soon.

I have 6 teeth now, 4 upper front and 2 bottom front. I still look like a boy though with my baldy front of my head. And lately, I’ll ask (in my baby jabber) for mummy to tie my hair. This is usually when she ties my cher-cher’s hair – I want to join in the fun too. I will sit quietly for mummy while she ties whatever she can with my little hair. :D (little rye li in the making).

As for speech, I seem to get whatever I want even though it’s all baby’s babbling. It helps since I can nod my head ‘yes’ to indicate what I want when people talk to me. Even my cher-cher can give me what I want with my nodding, well most of the time since she’ll snatch them back when she sees me having fun with it.

I seem to do things that my sister didn’t have any records for in her lifetime :-

a) I actually broke an Avent bottle – we always dropped our bottles and I’m not sure why one of mine actually broke. Perhaps they don’t make them as durable as before?!

b) I broke one of mummy’s shot glasses! Mummy collects them from all over the world and they are kept below our dining table, even way before my cher-cher was born. Now, I can access them and I’m always told off for not touching them. But I wasn’t lucky yesterday when one of them actually fell off. I wasn’t told off about it but now the rest of the shot glasses are all kept hidden away.

c) I actually spoilt some of the balls that we have at home. All belongs to my cher-cher and she wasn’t too happy about it. I bit them off and made a hole in them so there is no way papa can fix them. One of the balls is made of sponge and I actually ate the bits that came off. Now, they are off-limits to me. When you come to my house, I’ll show you my teeth marks on these sponge balls. :D
